Product Overview & Sizing
What is the purpose of a battery cover?
Battery covers offer a simple way to protect your renewable energy system and keep it looking its best. Built to withstand the elements, they help preserve the condition and performance of your system throughout the seasons. Their refined, understated design sits comfortably within any outdoor space, reducing visual impact and creating a cleaner, more organised installation.
Crafted in the UK from durable, maintenance-free materials, each cover is made to last and to complement the style of your home. With added protection, improved appearance and year-round reliability, they make renewable energy a more seamless and reassuring part of everyday living.
Are your covers compatible with all battery systems?
Our battery covers are designed to be compatible with most battery and inverter installations. Because systems vary by size and layout, we offer a wide range of cover sizes. Our Product Finder Tool helps you identify the recommended cover by entering your internal clearance measurements.
Each cover is designed to accommodate the battery units, inverter, isolators, and cabling, ensuring proper clearance, ventilation, and safe operation. If you are unsure whether your system is suitable, or can’t find a size that fits your setup, please Contact Us with photos and measurements and one of our engineers will be happy to advise.
How do I choose the correct size cover?
To choose the correct size, measure the overall height, width and depth of your battery installation, including the battery units, inverter, isolators, and any surface-mounted cabling. These measurements should be your internal clearance requirements - all sizes on the website are internal dimensions.
Our Product Finder Tool uses these measurements to recommend the most suitable. If your installation is unusual or you are unsure which size to select, you can Contact Us with photos and measurements and one of our engineers will be happy to advise.
Does insulation affect the internal dimensions of the cover?
No, the insulation is integrated into the frame itself, so the internal dimensions of the cover remain completely unaffected.
What are the covers made from and where are they manufactured?
Our battery covers are designed and manufactured in the UK. They are made using durable composite cladding, with an aluminium frame and lid to provide strength, corrosion resistance, and a clean, high-quality finish.
Are the covers weatherproof and rust-resistant?
Yes. Our battery covers are designed to be weatherproof and rust-resistant. The composite cladding does not rot or corrode, and the aluminium frame and lid are naturally corrosion-resistant, making them well suited to long-term exposure to rain, frost, snow, and UV. All fixings are selected for durability to ensure the cover remains protective and low-maintenance over time.
How long do the covers last?
Our composite cladding systems have a tested lifespan exceeding 30 years and require no maintenance. They are built for year-round outdoor exposure. Choose from three wood-effect colourways and two plain colours.
Performance, Ventilation & Efficiency
How do the covers regulate temperature year-round?
Without insulation, our covers provide protection from rain, snow, frost, wind, and UV exposure, while maintaining ventilation for safe, year-round operation. The ventilation spacers can be adjusted seasonally to suit conditions, with a minimum of 30mm.
With optional insulation, reducing the spacer gaps during winter helps create a warm air pocket when the system is charging and discharging, which can increase efficiency by around 10% and introduces a typical payback period of around 10 years. In summer, increasing the spacer gaps allows full ventilation and protection from direct sunlight, ensuring the battery continues to operate as normal, with insulation not restricting performance.
How is ventilation handled?
Ventilation is built into the design of our battery covers to ensure safe and efficient operation. Adjustable ventilation gaps (30mm+) allow air to circulate naturally around the battery and inverter, helping to prevent thermal build-up while protecting the system from the elements. These spacers can be adjusted seasonally, allowing increased ventilation in warmer months and reduced gaps in winter, without restricting normal system operation.
What is the optional insulation and what does it do?
Our optional insulation is an add-on designed to help reduce heat loss and improve system efficiency, particularly in colder conditions. When combined with seasonally adjustable ventilation spacers (30mm+), the insulation helps create a stable internal temperature during winter by retaining warmth generated when the battery is charging and discharging. This can reduce seasonal performance fluctuations, deliver notable efficiency gains and offer an eventual payback, while still allowing full ventilation in warmer months so normal operation is unaffected.
Does optional insulation affect internal dimensions?
No, the optional insulation does not affect the internal dimensions, as it is fully integrated within the frame.
What is the payback period?
For insulated models, the payback period is estimated at under 10 years through performance optimisation and reduced system degradation.
Security & Access
Are the covers secure and tamper-resistant and how does the optional lock operate?
Yes. Our battery covers are designed to be secure and tamper-resistant, acting as a physical deterrent against unauthorised access.
All of our enclosures are mounted to the wall using hook plates on the back of the unit which hang over screws in the wall, similar to how a picture frame is hung. The optional lock system works in conjunction with this mounting method: when locked, the bolt from the lock (which is attached to the hook plate) sits directly beneath the wall screw, preventing the cover from being lifted off the wall. When unlocked, the cover can be removed as normal. Each cover comes with two locks, one on each side, and each lock includes two keys.
Can I access the system behind the cover?
Access to the system is straightforward for servicing and maintenance. If no lock is fitted, the cover can be removed by undoing the fixing screws. If the optional wire lock is installed, the cover must first be unlocked using the supplied key before it can be removed. In both cases, this allows full access to the system.
Installation & Mounting
How are the covers attached to the wall?
Our battery covers are mounted to the wall using bolting screws fixed into the wall, with the cover hooking onto an internal mounting bracket, similar to hanging a picture frame. This method allows the cover to sit securely against the wall while keeping fixings largely concealed. Where fitted, the optional wire lock loops beneath the bolting screws to prevent the cover from being lifted off, adding an extra layer of security.
Can the covers be wall-hung?
The covers can be wall-hung if required. Additional fixings are provided after ordering, and customers should request a wall-hung installation by noting this in the 'Special Instructions' section in the cart. The cover then hooks onto an internal mounting bracket, allowing it to sit securely against the wall while remaining removable for servicing or maintenance.
Can I install the cover myself?
Yes. Our flat-packed covers are easy to assemble using only a drill and screwdriver. They are designed for fast on-site installation – see our Assembly Instructions for more information.
How do the covers accommodate cable runs?
Every cover comes supplied with adjustable spacers that create a ventilation gap at the rear. The spacers are adjustable up to (minimum 30mm), giving you plenty of room for most cable runs, and can be fine-tuned seasonally for temperature regulation. If you need extra clearance for bulkier cable runs, we can supply extra-long spacers on request - just get in touch with our team.
What maintenance is required?
None! Our covers are entirely maintenance-free. A simple occasional clean with a soft cloth is all that is needed to maintain appearance.
